...Solids. It's done. Complete. Needs packaging and posting. But I have taken advantage of a brief spell of quiet between visitors and sewn like a demon here. I've concentrated like, well, like I am seldom known to do. The iPad played Rhonda's podcast about Cindy, which is a great interview and has some very funny moments in it. Rhonda is developing a good dry British sense of humour. She will be talking with an accent soon if she keeps it up.
So I listened and sewed.
And here is what is going off to my partner.
The cushion looks a little sad because I didn't have a big enough insert to put in it to make it look properly puffed up. My extras are the little pin cushion I made with the Drunkard's Path scraps and a zippy pouch.
The back of the cushion is in a chocolate brown with hand stitched circles of various sizes stitched in the same colours of perle cotton used on the front of the cushion. And I just did a simple envelope back.
I'm hoping that my partner likes what I have made for her. I am a bit nervous about this one. But either way, it will be on its way to her as soon as I get it wrapped up and to the Post Office.
Please don't groan when I tell you that I got post today - really nice, make me smile post. Because I got an unexpected gift from the lovely Laura Jane and she is just the best. She sent me the gift just because. No other reason and I can't wait to meet her in person. We will be driving down to London together in June and sharing a hotel room as well. Oh, I lie - Laura Jane will be driving and I will be navigating. God help us!
A little purple cutting mat to take to London! Isn't that just the most gorgeous wee mat you have ever seen?! And some fabric. Laura Jane - you are absolutely fabulous. Thank you!! I cannot wait until London.
Susan
There is no way your partner can't like the things you made. The hand quilting turned out really beautiful. Nice to see which way to quilt you chose in the end.
