I am so pleased that my to do list is getting shorter and soon I can move on to the bigger projects I need to be working on. Today was set aside to make a cushion for one of the girls' friends who is turning nine this week.
She likes horses, and dragons. Hmmmm! No, I am not going to suddenly become adept at piecing either of these things and I wanted to make the cushion from fabric in my stash. Thankfully she also loves the colour purple and hearts too. So I made her this.
That ticks the purple box. And if you look closely you will see that I ticked the hearts box too, with the quilting.
I also thought I would show you a photo of the completed big '50' cushion for my brother. I am ever so pleased with it.
Instead of an envelope back I put in a zipper, which is in entirely the wrong shade of blue, but I place it down low and is shouldn't be seen much as the back is just plain and not worth turning the cushion over for.
Onto other things. I have made friends through writing this blog. More than I ever imagined. Some of them are not bloggers themselves. So what does a non-blogger do if she gets a block into the final of an online contest but doesn't know that many people online to send off to vote for her? Well, I am not sure what Angela is doing, but I am just sending out this short request if you have two seconds (it really only takes that long) to go on over to here and think about giving Angela (aka WandaFish11) a boost in the vote ratings by clicking on her in the voting box - which is on the upper right hand side of the screen.
If you are here looking for the giveaway I posted about yesterday, you can find it here.
