We got married in my brother's back garden. You can do that in Canada, marry pretty well wherever you like as long as you are legally married by someone entitled to do so.
The minister who married us had known me since I was born. That made it so much more personal for us.
Photos were in the front garden, with bubble blowing to keep the guests amused instead of confetti. In retrospect maybe the bubbles being blown while we were having photos taken wasn't such a good idea after all!
Then we walked to the back garden again and had the reception. It was a very relaxed wedding.
Eleven years later and we still make each other laugh. We're going out to lunch today to celebrate our happiness. If Shay gets a Favourite Things Friday post up then I will link this in. What exactly is my favourite thing? Well not weddings and not himself. Not me. But us! Today my favourite thing is being part of an 'us' and all that entails. Happy is good!
