Wonky Stars - The End is Near

Is there anyone in the UK not being deluged by rain storms where it is coming down sideways like a mini monsoon? The rain has been hitting my kitchen door so hard and relentlessly that it has broken through the window seal and is actually leaking through. I know it is a little optimistic of me but is there any chance we could have summer happen within the summer months? Please!!

Time has not been wasted though. I have been working on my wonky stars until my eyesight has gone slightly wonky. I am so pleased with it though. It is starting to look even better than I hoped it would.

I finished piecing the top.
Mitred the corners because I thought it would give this border a more finished look.
I added a bit of piecing to the backing - but forgot to photograph it.
Then I layered and basted.
Out came the perle cotton and I have just started doing some handquilting.
You may have noticed some white in the border.
That was so the points of the stars that are close to the border wouldn't
get lost in other fabrics and loose their impact.
Second star just about completed.
There is a lot of work in this quilt. More than you would think when you first look at it. But it so worth it because every time I look at it I smile. This one may be destined for a new home but I think I might have to make another at some point just for me!

So, what do you think Tinca (the future owner of this quilt), are you liking what I am doing? Do you still want to own it?

Bring on the weekend and some sunshine. No dancing tomorrow. Quiet day at home of laundry, stuff and sewing. I have to get things done because there is a list in my head of everything that I have committed myself to and it seems to be getting longer, not shorter. How?!

John has volunteered to do the Brownie run tonight. Yippee! On that note - you enjoy whatever you are doing too. Thanks for stopping by.

    I love this quilt so much, and I love the 'no ballet' feeling too; I just have to face the Disney Store with the grinning ballerina, then my work is done.

    Ooh you're such a smarty pants! That's truly gorgeous. Glad you persevered with the strippy border, it really sets off those wonky stars! Wh would not have a smile on their face looking at this quilt!
