And One Becomes Two

I have just finished slip stitching the binding on my second pillow cushion (must get it right, I do live in the UK after all). It will now proudly join the first HST cushion on the sofa and hide a little more of the ugliness. So I proudly present HST2. As opposed to HS2 (High Speed Rail link) which if approved will pass very close to here - but that is a different story! I digress, back to my cushion.

My little sewing tip for the day? Pay attention! That way when you have sewn the front to the back of the cushion you won't find that you have put the front inside out and exposed the ugly fabric used for the lining for all the world to see and hidden away all the HSTs. And created a whole lot of unpicking to do! So please, do as I say, not as I do and pay attention.

Here is the new cushion with its fraternal twin -

And the backs match to keep them as a set -

Now, if I get on with my Farmer's Wife blocks I will soon(ish) have a quilt that uses the same greens as in the cushions to throw over the back of the sofa and people won't notice how ugly my sofa is. They will be too busy listening to me tell them not to squish my cushions, and asking the girls what on earth they have done with the quilt - again. (They do have a way of permanently borrowing things that they like.)

I am going to link up with Fabric Tuesdays at Quiltstory as per usual. Hope you see lots of lovely things when you go over to their blog for a visit. I am always in awe of what everyone out there is making.

Now I have a music thing to go attend. Helen, with the rest of the Y5 and Y6 students, is back at the High School participating in a cluster school event - again! (I am sure it will be very nice.)

  3. So, so pretty! You made me laugh with the cautionary tale of sewing the cushion from on inside out, alas it was too late for me as I've already done this (more than once!) in the past :-)
Have fun at the music extravaganza!
