Not sure about where you are but there is anything but drought going on round here the past few days, and apparently the rest of April is not predicted to be much different. We shall see. The view out front today was decidedly glowering, when it wasn't just pissing it down instead.
With no desire to be outside - obviously - I spent some time on business inside before I turned my mind to more pleasant things. Like attaching the binding to the Siblings quilt. I machine sewed on the front, as per normal. And then I took needle, thread and quilt to the sofa for some quiet hand stitching time.
I spread the quilt upon my lap, got cosy as the rain lashed the window and then I -- um -- well, I promptly fell asleep. I might have made myself a little too cosy apparently. So not much to report here. I have a ton of veg to chop up for the stir fry tonight. Stacks of emails to reply to. And a binding to finish.
But I am rested and relaxed. This is no bad thing.
Susan
Just got a drought warning email from the council - I can't hear myself think with the rain noise on the conservatory roof! Oh joy, school run time too x
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that I enjoy reading your blog, which I've only recently discovered. Had to laugh at your post regarding the apologies - too funny! Love the ribbons - especially "everything stops for tea" - so cute.
ReplyDeleteif you didn't have to go out, this is the perfect weather. It seems you are getting the weather we need. Stay rested and hydrated, huh!
ReplyDeleteHeh, no drought up here! She says smugly... and damply...
ReplyDeleteLOL! I fell asleep too today, after lunch! But we've had glorious sunshine all day today. Pretty sure it's not going to last though. I'll try to send it your way for tomorrow. Jxo
ReplyDeletea little rest will do you the world of good xx Weather much the same here xx
ReplyDeleteSounds a perfect afternoon to me - it`s hot here today!
ReplyDeleteI could do with a big bunch of Annabella's warm sunshine - I'm frozen to the core! Forecast wet for the foreseable :(
ReplyDeleteoh lucky you: quilting and sleeping: very jealous. Its raining windy and cold here too :-(
ReplyDeleteHow clever of you to road test the Siblings Quilt! Proof that it does exactly what it should - make someone feel all warm and cozy. And Judith is absolutely forbidden to send you any of our sunshine - we get about three days of it a year, so if it's here I say we need to keep it - sorry Susan!
ReplyDeletesend some of that rain this way
ReplyDeleteA little nap never does any harm does it? Love the pinky purply quilt by the way!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the quilt is weaving it's magic- nothing better than a nana nap on a wet day!
ReplyDeleteRain lashing down all day here too. Good thing it was raining as we have a hosepipe ban due to a drought! Crazy world! An afternoon nap on a horrible day is perfect! Di xo
ReplyDeleteIt hadn't occurred to me that England could experience drought too. Although I agree, that weather picture doesnt look much like a place in drought.
ReplyDeleteSitting down here is always like playing russian roulette...I fall asleep a lot.
It's so funny that you find binding so relaxing. It's the worse part for me. I HATE binding. It takes for-freaking-ever.
ReplyDeleteHehehe :-) napping with needles, welcome to my world... Not much drought here either, no freakin sun either. Cold cold cold...
ReplyDeleteA nap sounds lovely, hopefully you got the rest done too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a restful day - mine was less so but we only had a teeny bit of rain yesterday, and lots of sun!!
ReplyDeleteHmm a nana nap! Always nice to sneak in a little nap occasionally. Please don't send the rain this way.
ReplyDeleteWe are in need of rain here in Ontario.
