I have been too busy having giveaways to show you a photo or two of the HST Terrain quilt finished. The photos are crap because the light has been bad and every outdoor surface seems to be covered in slush - which I have been rather reluctant to place this quilt upon. But, for better or worse, here is the completed quilt, which himself still deems nice enough to hang upon our walls.
I went for the traditional quilt and toes shot. |
The small dry patch outside was cursed with over bright and uneven lighting. |
So I got artsy and moody with the indoor lighting. |
The backing really does work well with the Terrain. |
I must have been bored because I kept taking photos. |
And then the obligatory rolled quilt shot. |
I am very pleased with this quilt though most of that pleasure is derived not so much from the quilt making as the loveliness of the Terrain fabric. I am so glad I chose to pair it with the navy instead of my usual white. I think the navy sets it off beautifully. And the stitching in the ditch lets the fabric shine.
So, finally, a finish for 2012.
A huge thank you for all the lovely comments that have been left in the past few days. You have all put a smile in my heart. I've been doing stuff with my mum today (and tomorrow and Sunday) so I may not be very good at the replying thing over the next few days. As it stands I currently have 167 emails in my inbox. But I have read each and every one and grinned like an idiot with happiness. You are all too kind for words. Thank you!
Susan
