Favourite Thing Friday

My best friend is coming to stay! My best friend is coming to stay!  In fact, as I write this she is sitting exhausted on a train somewhere between Gatwick and Banbury. And she is my FTF. Because you can't beat the friends who have known you forever. Shared flats with you. Seen you through your wild spell (Oh come on, I am not the only one who had a bit of wildness in her younger days, am I?), your varied relationships, your ups and downs, donned a backpack and travelled with you, and been your friend through it all.

And she has come all the way from Canada to spend time with me, me, me. Okay, maybe the girls and himself to. But I am first in line. Because we firmly established that I don't give up my place in line to anyone on Tuesday. I am not sure what my posts will be like over the next two weeks. Apologies if I go AWOL. Trust in the fact that I am having fun though.

Last night I played with the teeny tiny off cuts from the Go! when I did the Drunkard's Path blocks. And this is what I came up with.

A wee pin cushion.
And I have just started the stitching on the FTLOS cushion cover. I am thinking concentric circles with the different coloured thread.

Keeping the circles even is going to be a challenge.
And I leave you with a photo of Emily, my smoothie goddess, with her latest creation. I believe these ones are strawberry banana smoothies but I am only the photographer. She drank both glasses on her own!

I love how the girls are so good at garnishing things now.
Trust me, they do not get impeccably garnished dinners each night!
Well, I had best do the final few things before I go and pick up my Favourite Thing Friday, aka my best friend. I'll be linking this up with Shay over at Quilting in My Pyjamas for her FTF linky party.

Susan
