... snow day! Please, my Canadian friends, don't laugh. You may look at this and think 'What on earth is all the fuss about?' - but this may be the only snow we see all winter so we have to lap it up, enjoy it, play in it, make the most of it.
It started snowing late yesterday afternoon. I didn't tell the girls it was expected because they would have been totally gutted if it didn't happen. Such was the fear that they would wake in the morning and it could all be gone that Emily was out last night making the most of it.

Getting this child back in side was the only problem. |
|
We woke up to this.
Pure joy emanated from the children in this house. |
|
And then the snowball fight commenced. |
|
Some had snowballs bigger than others.
Taken from the safety of the upstairs window.
I'm no fool! |
|
Snowmen of all sizes... |
|
... appeared in the front garden. |
|
A walk through the village showed it looking completely beautiful. |
|
Now if only the man boy in the car hadn't thought it was amusing
to drive by Helen and I at speed in the slush! |
|
Angels appeared everywhere we went. |
|
The rest of the weekend was taken up with
ice cream making.
Vanilla. Delicious!! |
|
And bread making by my own little baker.
Both Saturday and Sunday. |
Sometimes life is far more important than sewing. This weekend was one of those times. Playing in the snow surpassed all other activities. Hope that you had as much fun as we did.
Susan
We spent ages digging our car out! Little one has gone out sledging with friends! So she will be having fun!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful weekend Susan! I lived in Yorkshire for a year (hubby is from there) and the first morning I had to drive to work in the snow I got to the car park and couldn't see any of the lines to know where to park - boy did that make me laugh. I had no idea snow crunched when you walk on it until that year either! Enjoy!
