A New Place...

... to hang my quilts outside.

The decking is finished around the shed and I can hang my quilts along the side. I'm thinking that I will request some strategically placed nails hidden under the overhang so I can avoid that shadow at the top. I don't think it is too much to ask.

It's a gorgeous summers day here. Long may it last. Lying on the grass to take photos of a quilt top with the sun shining through it is a rare occurrence.

I'm waiting on some more Kona White to add a simple border and then the basting will commence on this quilt. Meanwhile, there is a tonne of other stuff to get on with.

  1. Oh, Susan - look at how beautiful it is in the gleaming sun! Glorious top-finish my friend.

Sure, tell him you'll put in the nails if he doesn't. He'll go running with the hammer.

  4. The quilt turned out wonderfully! It looks like a stained glass window with the sun coming through. Have you seen how Carla from CoraQuilts hangs hers on the side of her house? That might work for you too. I think she has permanent cafe curtain hook/clips attached.

  9. Great almost finished top... The she'd is a perfect background. Love Cindy's suggestion above and can totally vouch for it. Been there.. Done that :) let's just say he wasn't in a hurry to help until I pulled out the power drill and asked for his help to plug it in.

  10. I'm so slow at commenting these days that you already have the top pieced and I didn't even manage to tell you how much I love it with the warm tones added. (Although I still love the cooler colours version, too).
That photo with the sun shining through sings perfect summer to me :)

  18. It's lovely Susan and happy you have some English sun. It's horrible here today - 40°C. Bleugh. I'm continually looking for a new place to take shots so I'm envious of yours especially as it involves decking :)

  20. It's gorgeous! Why not ask for a couple of custom-made coat pegs rather than boring old nails?!!
