Oh my, I am delirious with joy! I loved the Festival of Quilts and am already determined to go back next year. I was blown away with the level of talent on display in the various quilts - and have no intention of even attempting some of the things that others are doing. Rather just stand back and admire. Some of it may not be my kind of thing but that doesn't stop you from seeing the skill, patience and imagination that went into creating each piece.
I met up with Nicky, from Mrs Sew and Sow. What a wonderful woman. Great person to spend the day with. It was the first time we met in person but chat all the time via emails and our blogs comments. She surprised me by giving me a gift -
Which is a great memory for our day out because she made a label that will allow me to always remember -
It was such a lovely and generous thing for Nicky to do for me. And I, fresh from holiday, took nothing! Arrghhh! So wish I had thought about it in advance. But, to Nicky, thank you so much for your company today and the mug rug. It was a pleasure to spend time with you and get to know you better. Needless to say, Nicky got a photo of me and there is a photo of the two of us on her camera. I failed. I am such a numpty. Think I was too busy talking and enjoying her company!
I would like to tell you more but I will save that for the morning. I will leave you with a peak at my bounty for the day.
I am one happy woman!
Susan
I think there is something weird happening on blogger today - I knew from your email that you had posted but despite refreshing my blog page your post from yesterday was the only one showing...Hadley mentioned on her blog that something weird happened with her post yesterday. It was only by coming over to your blog that I found your post?!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your bounty looks bountiful and lovely and can`t wait to see what you produce - and sounds like you have made a lovely real life friend, which is always a good thing.
Rest up Susan - you have a lot of sewing to do!
Wow you got a lot of stuff and gee thanks for saying I am wonderful but I feel likewise. Was not expecting any gift from the girl back from hols just experimenting on you in case I want to join a swap sometime! Heehee!
ReplyDeleteI am quite exhausted....!
That's a really pretty gift!
ReplyDeleteI'm living vicariously through looking at your haul and it's making me feel happy too! I'm going through fabric withdrawal at the moment...
sounds as though you had a fantastic time, I am very jealous. And what a great haul you have come back with
ReplyDeleteOh it looks like you had a fab day! What a lovely bundle of fabrics. Cute MR too! Jxo
ReplyDeletebumper bounty! So glad you've had a great time :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a good time at the traders...are the kids still eating beans on toast? LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it to the Festival. I'm not going to make it this year...just footed a car repair bill of £300 and had to buy a new fridge...all in the same week...so I can't really justify spending money on fabric at the mo. I think I might start saving now so I can come out and play next year :o)
Sorry Susan but the words middle aged should not be used to descibe yourself.
ReplyDeleteOooooh! I am sooooo jealous!
ReplyDeleteoh no so it's fried rice, jacket potatoes & beans on toast for the next 6 months is it? joking LOL...
ReplyDeleteThat is SUCH a very very nice haul of pretty fabric. I'd be a pretty happy woman too!!
Not jealous. Noooooo.... never jealous!!
Much...!
Are you sure you like all of it? Maybe some of it could be "ugly" and we could swap again?
Well glad you had a fab time!!
And I'm still cross at you for spoiling all my fun before! You know exactly why ;) LOL...
Glad you had an awesome time at FoQ. It sounds wonderful. And what a nice treat from Nicky/Mrs. Sew and So (I follow both of you, so its been interesting to see both your posts about FoQ and that you met up with each other). Your booty looks awesome!! Thanks for sharing!
