Greetings from Aberdeen. We are going ice skating in half an hour. But don't let that fact make you think we haven't been doing the beach thing too. Emily's blue lips on exiting the North Sea after an extended body boarding session and my sunburnt nose can attest to the beach experience.
I would like to be able to say it has been nothing but fun and frolics since we departed southern regions, but unfortunately I can't. We arrived at my mum's Sunday and all was well. But that night my mum fell ill and by Monday she was hospitalised. She is home again now, but I brought the girls to Aberdeen earlier than planned to give peace, quiet and healing time.
Not sure where we will be when now. My mum is determined to be fighting fit for us to return. We shall see.
I can't access my emails despite my best attempts so apologies for lack of communication and replies to comments.
More later.
Susan
So sorry to hear about your mum Susan but relieved to hear she is home again and on the mend. It must have been a worry for you but it`s good you were there with her. Enjoy your ice-skating - sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteOh no Susan - sorry to hear about your mum. I hope she does recover quickly!
ReplyDeleteNot surprised about blue lips off Aberdeen - had a head cold once went in swimming and the shock of the cold sea cleared my head - not a recommended cure though. Stay in the dunes out of the wind and get baked if the sun shines!
Hope your mum is OK - I'm sure she wasn't pretending in order to get you to move on - that's just what I would do!!
ReplyDeletehope your mum is feeling better and you can get back to see her soon .
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your mum! I hope she has a super speedy recovery so that you can spend some more time together!
ReplyDeletePs just so you know, you've missed a couple of my giveaways. Don't know if that was intentional or not... Xx

ReplyDeleteI hope your Mum makes a speedy and uneventful recovery and that you can head back there soon.
ReplyDeleteA sunburnt nose and blue lips don't really seem to go together!
Oh no. I'm so sorry your mum was taken poorly, and over your visit too. I hope she has a full and speedy recovery and that you are able to spend more time with her before heading south again!
ReplyDeleteOh your poor Mum and poor you. What a worry. Hope she recovers quickly and you get to spend a bit more time together x
ReplyDeletePS I remember a lot of blue lips + sunburn as a child. I think it's part of the Scottish summer-time look!
hope your mum is well on the road to recovery and that you can get back down to see her. And, if its any consolation, the weather down south is rubbish too!
ReplyDeleteHope your Mum recovers quickly.
