Away Day

I am off larking about by the seaside with the best bunch of ladies a quilter could know today (and tonight). It is another Brit Bee Social Day, but not at my house this time. We are in Hastings, messing about, cackling loudly (I am sure), and most likely the odd rude word or two might creep into conversations.

While I am off misbehaving I thought I would let you see that I can do subtle when the situation calls for it. I listened to all your sage advice about what how I should quilt the sky on the house block, I took it on board and this is what I did.

You have to look closely, but there are hand stitched white clouds there. Just holding the layers of the quilt together, adding a bit more texture, but never taking away from that big expanse of sky. Thanks to everyone who helped lead me to this most appropriate idea.

Take the photo from the right angle and those white clouds are invisible clouds.

And that is the stitching done on the block. Binding to decide on next, but not this weekend obviously. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, I hope you are having as good a time as I am.

Susan

  2. The subtle clouds are just perfect, and it makes sense they were someone elses idea as you don't do subtle! ;o). I can't say i'm not a little disappointed that no dog pooh got included, but it does look great without it.

I won't say behave yourself this weekend as I think that would be impossible!

  17. Evaporation is invisible... the sun has come out and is evaporating your clouds....perfect solution to your dilemma and it looks lovely.
Dont ruin your vocals with too much cackling this weekend...the girls will be amused if Mum cant talk anymore :)
