While I am off misbehaving I thought I would let you see that I can do subtle when the situation calls for it. I listened to all your sage advice about what how I should quilt the sky on the house block, I took it on board and this is what I did.
You have to look closely, but there are hand stitched white clouds there. Just holding the layers of the quilt together, adding a bit more texture, but never taking away from that big expanse of sky. Thanks to everyone who helped lead me to this most appropriate idea.
Take the photo from the right angle and those white clouds are invisible clouds. |
And that is the stitching done on the block. Binding to decide on next, but not this weekend obviously. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, I hope you are having as good a time as I am.
Susan
The clouds are perfect! The block is just gorgeous. Have a wonderful weekend with your stitching buddies. I'm highly envious I might add!
ReplyDeleteThe subtle clouds are just perfect, and it makes sense they were someone elses idea as you don't do subtle! ;o). I can't say i'm not a little disappointed that no dog pooh got included, but it does look great without it.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Susan. I'm looking forward to reading all about your weekend with the girls. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend! I've been watching a program called Foyle's War that is set in Hastings and it looks like a beautiful place to spend a weekend with quilting ladies. BTW, the clouds look really good.
ReplyDeletePerfect! Ghost clouds!
ReplyDeleteI won't say behave yourself this weekend as I think that would be impossible!
