Three Down...

... Seventeen to go.

It's probably the world's easiest paper piecing project going, but I am still making a total mess of it. Just redone one of these blocks totally. Seriously! Why does everyone find this so easy?

  2. If you get more tips just forward them to me. I have no clue how you can do them wrong but I am looking forward to see the front :)

  3. Hi Susan! I was just Paper piecing after a long time and made silly mistakes. It needs lot of concentration but I enjoy it! I made flower in a pot and shall make few more for a Mini quilt. Be patient! x Teje

  4. The quilt police would kill me but I always use massive bits of fabric because I can never get angles right when I'm pping!! Total waste but means I don't get so annoyed! ;)

  5. Easy?!?! Ha! You should've seen the confusion on my face today when I too was trying to get started on a very very easy block. Maybe it's just that our brains are wired in a different way, and we're not really thick at all ;-) xx

  6. Erm, am I far enough away to ask how you can find it so hard? Good luck anyway!

  12. Good luck, just go a little slower maybe. I am guessing I have that exact same fabric.

  13. I love it. It seems backwards at first but once you (I?) do it a bit your brain doesn't think it's backwards anymore.

    1. I'd rather paper piece than anything else. If there's a block with a bunch of HST's, or what have you, I'd rather figure out a way to paper piece them :)

  14. I think you must have to have your head on backwards too! I find it relatively easy, but I still make mistakes. And it does waste fabric.

  15. I don"t find it easy either. I need to concentrate soooooo hard and find it hard to get my head around. But i love what you can do with it!

  16. Hmmm... I've only attempted hexies and found them difficult enough at times!

  17. Listen, I just love the end product, not the process. To me, that makes it all worth while. It's just not how your brain works and that's OK. You (clearly) have other strengths where you shine! xx

  18. it is 'simple' but that does not make it 'easy' They are two different concepts! I can do it... But I can do it very wrong too!
I like to fold the 'next' bit backwards, and hold the fabric in the right place to sew, and look through it at a light, to check my piece will work, and that the angle is right.... This helps, but is not quite foolproof... I have proven that enough times...

    good luck!

  19. I agree that it is hard to think backwards. Keep practicing. I am sure you will get it soon.
