The Day After

It has been pissing down rain all day today. But for once it hasn't put me in a mood. Nah, going to the dentist did that! Okay, sort of joking because I'm not in a bad mood despite having to spend my morning with someone else's fingers in my mouth.

And I am not in a bad mood because I had such a good day yesterday. Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes. I do appreciate it. We had a brilliant meal last night, aided by the fact that it didn't rain here all day. So I got to barbecue ribs for our dinner which was very much what I wanted for our meal. Just in case you think the birthday girl shouldn't be cooking her own dinner - we are going out for dinner tomorrow night. I preferred to eat out on a non-school night.

It did my soul the world of good to be outside wielding the tongs, watching the girls play and then letting them toast marshmallows after dinner. Himself grabbing the rare opportunity to cut the grass.

I also have something to look forward to in nine days time. Something that is going to do my soul even more good. I'll leave you guessing what is happening for now because it is too much fun not to keep it secret for a little while. And as I have spent my day with a half frozen face hoping to God I didn't drool without realising it while I did my grocery shop, I have no photos to show you. Other than a half eaten cake. Which was very, very good I must say.
