This weekend has been taken up with a lot of non-bloggy stuff. It happens. There is a chance it might be happening lots more in the next few months. If it does, it does. In fact if it does, while I will hanker after my sewing time, in terms of life it might mean we are gaining ground. We shall see.
I did manage to start my mini production line today though. In aid of my makes for the Sample Swap at the retreat.

First I traced out my pattern.
This time on cotton, for more ease in sewing (I've been told),
and for the lack of enough linen on hand for the production line. |

I layered the cotton with wadding on the hoops
to give them more substance,
and so my less than tidy stitching on the back wouldn't show through. |

This time I began with the flag.
Not a French knot in sight.
Yay! |
The satin stitch is going to take time, but not nearly as much time as the French knots were. And, for your information, that hoop has been flung carelessly into a corner to be ignored for now. Time is limited. These need to be finished. I am learning the importance of prioritisation. And the fact that I think I will be needing more red perle cotton.

ReplyDeletesometimes, well most of the time life gets in the way of my sewing, but that's what I signed up for :O) and I think it makes the time we do get to ourselves, all the more precious...I don't envy you all that stitching but I'm sure they'll be fantastic when finished, I actually really liked the french knot one too :)
