I am sure that you don't need to know about the time I have spent on shortening and hemming curtains for my lovely neighbours. That has been the bulk of my sewing lately. Suffice to say that I prefer to sew with quilting cottons. But it does the soul good to do something for someone else too.
Only put this photo in to feed Hadley's brown phobia. No other reason. |
Nor do you want to read about my efforts in the office for himself. Housework? Nah, let's not even go there in this discussion. But if you rang my doorbell right now I would only be embarrassed by the state of the house versus my normal mortified.
I'm not allowed to talk to you about my Strip Tease strip that I am working on for Danny.
That leaves me with the single task of showing you the completed embroidery on the first Sample Swap hoop.
All the lettering is now done. |
Think I need to re-centre it better. |
Susan
5 to go :o)
ReplyDeleteIt looks fab
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I hope I'm in your group. (But why did Laura say 5 to go, we only have to make 4, don't we?)
ReplyDeleteR x
Brown curtains are fine, brown clothes are fine, brown most things are fine except old fogey fabric for quilts!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my you are so the Queen of stitching! This is stunning Suz! jxo
ReplyDeleteYEAH!! Looks fab :) - please tell me we're making 4?!!
ReplyDeleteI am caling virtual dibs on that one and I am now off to officially bribe Trash ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat hoop looks marvellous. You are kind hemming your neighbours curtains. I once made curtains for my lining and dining room and left the pins in until the curtains got thrown out. I'd take them out when I washed the curtains then pin them back in. I kept telling myself I was waiting for them to 'drop'. I'm not sure you need to wait years and years for this to happen though ;-) Umm and now. Not a curtain in my house. Blinds at every window - I learned I didn't even have to make the curtains at all :-)
ReplyDeletewoohoo! looks great!
ReplyDeleteAnd one more for me - so seven in all!
ReplyDeleteYeah, 4 for the swap and lots extra for your `special` friends. Better get sewing!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure hoping for one of those hoops. And you are very kind sewing curtains, it is always frustrating to realize that the hem is straight but the house is not, maybe this is never going to be an issue for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm embarrassed to admit that I actually have Ikea curtains in my living room that are hemmed with bondaweb hemming stuff...
