... this mouse might play - sometimes.
There is a new toy in our house. It arrived by delivery this morning. It's called a Mookie Lolo Ball. Never heard of it? Either had I until Emily begged and begged for one. Seeing as how she has had a tough time lately and himself is a soft touch, we now own one.
This is what you are supposed to be able to do on one.
You are so missing out on a good laugh because you haven't been able to witness my attempts to conquer this impossible to do toy! And, no, I'm not capable of getting a photo of me making a complete arse of myself on it. Sorry! It now rests innocently in the corner of the kitchen and Emily will never know. Thought it best I stop before I broke the thing and had to deal with a devastated daughter.
Meanwhile I am on hand sewing duty while the lovely Cindy volunteered to send me a bottle of oil for my machine. So I am now half way through my hoop production for the Sample Swap.
Two down, two to go. The light is at the end of the tunnel.
Susan
If it was me, I would have broken myself as well as the toy!
ReplyDeleteI think you need to have another go with the camera on a timer ;-) Actually I've seen those ball things but never knew they had such an interesting name!
ReplyDeleteOk, so this is a variation of a balance board that I use at the gym - the concept is based on serious exercise stuff. Good for you. Really good. Just saying. ps, I am not good at it, terrible, actually, but I do try.
ReplyDeleteMy kids had one of those! I don't think I was ever brave enough to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteI need pictures of you doing this. Please bring it to london.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I dont know what on earth you're calling it, and I cant actually remember what its normal name is ( ;-) ) but I used to have one when I was a kid and they're AWESOME! Like a cross between an easier less dangerous handsfree pogo stick and a less deadly wobble board...
ReplyDeleteGet the girls to film you on that thing, then we can all see you in action!!!!!! Your FQ hoops are just fantastic. Di xo
ReplyDeleteLove your hoops :-) very lovely. I've seen those toys before, not sure if I've ever tried one. I know that if I tried it now, i'd fall off and break something! Probably my arms! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there will be room for it in Laura's car!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Sarah - can't remember the 'real' name but they're great! You do end up with blisters on the sides of your feet if you bounce too much!!
ReplyDeleteTrim ball!!! I remembered just too late!
ReplyDeleteWe have one of those! We got it for Joe but in fact he's barely used it. Will (14) is pretty good on it though but I can't even get on the damn thing without hanging onto something!
ReplyDeleteBlast from the past! I had one of those when I was about 12 or 13 (so around 1990), so did every girl in the village. We called them Lolo balls.
ReplyDeleteWe had those when I was a kid. They never had a proper name as far as we knew, we just called it a planet hopper thing.
ReplyDeleteOh I bet you had a space hopper when you were wee!! That I'd love to see! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI tried one of those at Scout camp - apparently you have to be under 12 to work them!
ReplyDeleteLove the hoops.
I'll just skip over the toy thing, I'm with Jude in space hopper camp! Hoops are looking fab-u-lous Missus!
ReplyDeleteYES! Like Wendy and Sarah, et al I used to have one as a kid, I used to think it looked like Saturn. It was a yellow ball with a pink disk and I was awesome at it :D I was about 8. Thanks for bringing back that memory!
ReplyDeleteIf you won't do the decent thing by posting a pic, the least you can do is sneak it out of the house for the retreat so the rest of us can have a go!
ReplyDeleteSusan, you make me laugh! Why is it that our kids can make things like this look so easy to do?
ReplyDeleteI'd stop drinking the oil when falling off the toys if I were you, then you'd be fine ;o)
ReplyDeleteI had one of those when I was little, it was called a space bouncer or something like that.
Hoops are looking fab though!
thank the lord you didnt brake something on you then she would have know
ReplyDeleteGosh. Them thar hoops are looking fabalush :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness look how happy she is!
ReplyDeleteThe oil is on it's way. I told the postie it was an emergency!
Ohh I had one of these when I was a kid, I loved it, can't believe they are back!
ReplyDeleteNot only would I have busted the toy - I probably would have broken my leg in an attempt to prove I could do something that was so patently un-do-able!
ReplyDeleteOh that ball brings back painful memories - like the others Mookie lolo is not the name I remember it by but we did have one when we were kids. My brother was ace at it - me, well I always suck at anything requiring co-ordination!
ReplyDeleteLove your stitcheries Susan!
ReplyDeletestitcheries are gorgeous (of course) and that mooki thing lloks dangerous - I think i'd snap a fetlock if i had a go!!
ReplyDeleteYour hoops look great. Tell Em her toy looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have some long nights ahead. Em sure looks happy there with her new toy. Hope things are going well.!
ReplyDeleteI think you have to take it to FQ and we will all have a go! And I will take a photo of you - I promise!
ReplyDeleteGreat hoops!
oohh I remember those!! Fun :)
ReplyDeleteThe hoops are wonderful... keep at it!!
I am like the rest - would probably break something LOL but they are supposed to help train you to balance properly.
ReplyDeleteLoving the embroideries but worrying now that I have not done anything yet??
Off to sew (quickly!!)
Eeep!
Lush x
your hoops are looking amazing-well done for persevering with them! and please put up some pics of you in action on the ball thingy!
ReplyDeleteIf it was me I would have fallen off and broken something (and not the toy!).
ReplyDeleteYour hoops are lovely.
Emily looks like she is levatating! Great fun and will look for the video of you on youtube!
ReplyDeleteDid it come with a warning label?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this brings back memories - I had a Lolo ball! Very hard work if I remember rightly! x
