I wish I had a better photo but the badminton net outside - my usual place of choice - isn't high enough to hang this from now. I didn't have my other top choice for display purposes - child labour. And the only surface big enough, and uncluttered enough to lie the quilt top flat was the kitchen floor. How sad is that?! And there wasn't enough maneuvering room to avoid that bright shaft of sunlight. I would call the photo session a big fat fail!
But I still completed the quilt top. Unfortunately Sarah and Jennifer have posted the instructions for cutting the backing pieces and I think I am supposed to be piecing them now. Also unfortunately the quilt shop I dodged trees to get to the other day only had one metre of my white backing fabric in stock. More expected soon. I don't know if I will be doing my backing as per the instructions, but the fact remains I do not have enough of the white to achieve any of the options.
So I went and played with some ginger, and chili, and garlic - included some pork in the mess - and went about getting dinner started instead. There is always something I could be doing. Food and sewing just happen to be the top choices.
Eventually I turned my meagre art skills to pondering what to do for the DS Doll Quilt Swap. Not come to any conclusions but it was fun playing with the colouring pencils.
Equilateral triangles? HSTs? Suggestions?
Let's forget about all that and turn towards much more interesting things. Sarah, at FairyFace Designs, is having a giveaway. That is far more exciting than my rather lackluster post today. If you like solids (uh, who doesn't?!) then you will want to enter this giveaway. Sarah has teamed up with River Fabrics to give one lucky winner 5 half metres of Kona solids. Quite frankly, I would prefer that you didn't enter because I really am lacking a good choice of solids in my stash at the moment and a win like this would be rather timely. So please ignore the fact that I have said anything about it and allow me a better chance of winning. Thanks!
