Paper Snowflakes
Two fabrics in a quilt. Only two fabrics in a quilt. And those fabrics being solids. This is so out of my comfort zone, which is usually the school of 'the more you throw at it the merrier mode of sewing'.
But I am happy that I stepped out of my comfort zone. Paper Snowflakes measures up at approximately 78" square. I have an idea for the backing. The question of how to quilt it on my domestic machine is boggling my mind though.

ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed. I did a quilt with three solid colours a few years back and got really!really bored half way through. It's still waiting to be quilted. It's hard to work with solids when you are use to lots of colours and textures.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, can't go wrong with a red and white quilt. Personally I'd stitch 1/8" either side of the red ditches and let the pattern speak for itself. Looking forward to seeing how you do it - Chris :D

ReplyDeleteAfter 59 years of extensive research in the great white north I have noticed that snowflakes are white.....just sayin.......Also I hope that is two lovely young ladies holding up the quilt while standing on the chairs and not one doing the splits.

ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely geometric pattern! I don't see snow flakes (that's just me most likely!), but I love how the points go out into the border and the secondary arrows where the blocks meet. And you can't go wrong with red and white!
ReplyDeleteUtterly fabulously amazing. This is a great take on a two colour quilt . Love that you used red and white. I'd keep my quilting simple and really make that design pop!
