Unique People

Over the past couple of years I have made some lovely friends blogging. Some I may never meet in person but I have great conversations with them online. It is the magic and joy of the internet. One of these people is Claire. She is an Australian and blogs over at Claire-Bear Quilts, and she contacted me on the weekend to ask me a favour.

Claire has three children. Like every one of us who are blessed to have children, each of her children is unique and wonderful. Her youngest also has autism. Claire asked, that as she had a smaller readership for her blog than I did here, would I be willing to let people know that April is National Autism Month.

She is hoping to raise awareness of autism and also let people know that there are associations that offer support and information to help families who have autistic children.

If you are interested in knowing more, or have a family member or friend who is autistic, then please follow this link to this Facebook page. It will get you started in learning so much more, and meeting other people who you can chat to who might be in a similar situation.

    Good on you for publicising this important group. I teach children with varying degrees of autism and am very aware of the challenges they face! Pretty quilt too!

    so love twister quilts and yes it needs sharing more, as a mum to a boy with autistic tendencies it explains to people he's not naughty, he's just different :)
