The Arrival of Autumn...

...heralds the desire to hand quilt again. It is a cold, wet and grey day outside today. I am happy inside, tucked up under my Stitch Tease quilt slowly adding more rows of hand stitching to it.

Thank you for everyone who left a comment yesterday. You convinced me to abandon my doodling trying to think of a different star and stick with my original idea. It would be finished now too, if I wasn't so happy tucked up under my quilt.

  1. Dude! Gimme hand quilting advice, please. Do you pin or thread baste? Hoop or no. Start in middle and work out as normal? (unless you're a rebel like me. *g*) My first hand quilting on an actual quilt looms large and I could use a little hand holding!

  6. hehe this comment comes to you from my bed! I'm still trying to shake this cough, and fresh bedsheets were just too inviting. I have some epp here though, I'm making a gift for someone that includes a star, though its just an 8 pointed one, not particulary unusual!
    Happy stitching xx

  10. Despite the fact we are half way through Spring - its cold here too this morning. Hand sewing and snuggled up on the couch is definitely part of my plan for today!

  15. I have a line up of quilts I'd like to hand quilt but it's already too hot here. We've completely missed spring and straight into summer.
It sounds like a lovely way to spend a miserable weather day.
