Long Over Due

For a long time now I have been looking in the mirror and thinking, 'Yuck!' But in typical fashion I didn't do anything to remedy the situation. Until today. I trotted off to the most delightful hair stylist. I love Nicola because she completely gets my total lack of ability and desire to fuss with my hair.

And she cut my hair. About six inches off the length. I so needed it. I've been shoving it into a ponytail for so long and shall we just say that that is not a good look for me. Of course when you get your hair cut it always looks tens times better for 24 hours, so I took a photo and I am going to pretend I look like this all the time.

This might be the first selfie I've ever taken that I was willing to share.
Meanwhile, when not indulging my vanity, I've been getting a little bit of sewing done. I have been working on long overdue bee blocks, but got interrupted today. I had a request for a small gift to give to one of the other German exchange students who was turning 13 today. She is a keen sewer apparently, so I made her this wee needle book.

I thought it was a combination of useful and a little souvenir of her time in England. Helen and Laura both approved and it should be have been gifted now. They are all out for dinner, the guests of the other host family. My good deed of today is done.

  1. Look at you Miss Hottie! Gorgeous and love the shorter length. How sweet that the GES turned in to a teenager while with you - she'll never forget that. Lovely make too...now back to those bee blocks!

  10. Looks smashing. I'm having mine cut on Thursday, but it will be the same old, same old. That's the trouble with short hair.

  18. Looking good! (both you and the needle book) I did the same thing as you yesterday - went to have my hair cut and tried to make a selfie, not sure I'll be posting it though, I think I got on the wrong side of my hairdresser ;-)
