I am so pleased that my to do list is getting shorter and soon I can move on to the bigger projects I need to be working on. Today was set aside to make a cushion for one of the girls' friends who is turning nine this week.
She likes horses, and dragons. Hmmmm! No, I am not going to suddenly become adept at piecing either of these things and I wanted to make the cushion from fabric in my stash. Thankfully she also loves the colour purple and hearts too. So I made her this.
That ticks the purple box. And if you look closely you will see that I ticked the hearts box too, with the quilting.
I also thought I would show you a photo of the completed big '50' cushion for my brother. I am ever so pleased with it.
Instead of an envelope back I put in a zipper, which is in entirely the wrong shade of blue, but I place it down low and is shouldn't be seen much as the back is just plain and not worth turning the cushion over for.
Onto other things. I have made friends through writing this blog. More than I ever imagined. Some of them are not bloggers themselves. So what does a non-blogger do if she gets a block into the final of an online contest but doesn't know that many people online to send off to vote for her? Well, I am not sure what Angela is doing, but I am just sending out this short request if you have two seconds (it really only takes that long) to go on over to here and think about giving Angela (aka WandaFish11) a boost in the vote ratings by clicking on her in the voting box - which is on the upper right hand side of the screen.
If you are here looking for the giveaway I posted about yesterday, you can find it here.
Oh fab cushions! Nice and girly but not sicklysweet girly :-) You're becoming quite the seamstress now knocking things up in a day.... Lovely :-)ReplyDelete

And thank you so much for doing a big shout out for me :) Thanks to all you lovely people who have voted for my quilt block - I was astounded to see that mine was topping the voting chart earlier!! Unbelievable :)
I voted for her already yesterday after you emailed. But I haven't had a chance to reply to you yet.ReplyDelete
I notice you gracefully declined giving me a written "earful" about my smartsy comment the last time you showed me that 50 pillow.
I voted. Love the purple pillow.ReplyDelete
Both cushions are great Susan! Happy, smiley recipients all around. You're getting as bad as (should that be as good as?) Judith knocking out birthday pressies for the kids' friends just like that (snaps fingers)!ReplyDelete
lucky girl - great idea to make a cushion - and just love the big 50 one you made for your brother - nothing like rubbing it in :)ReplyDelete
Very cool cushions Susan!ReplyDelete
