More Good Post!

I've been out most of the day today. Just busy stuff, the usual and nothing too important or earth shattering. Life going about its normal thing. And then I came home to unexpected post. Fiona, over at Poppy Makes, had sent this parcel.

A couple of weeks ago I did a small favour for Fiona and was happy to do it. She in turn asked me if there were any fabrics she had that I would be interested in having a bit of. Well! I have this idea of doing a sort of eye spy quilt, only it is going to be a more Eye Spy Susan's Favourite Fabrics Quilt than something to entertain children. I have some scraps I adore and am too selfish to use up on other people. I am down to the last pieces and am hoarding them to use in something for me, me, me so that I will always remember certain fabrics that I have loved.

I told Fiona which fabrics she had that I would love a wee corner of and she came good. I do apologise for the photographs but by the time I saw these fabrics and went about photographing them any half decent light for the day had began to fade. Here is what she sent me.

Dogs! Can't decide if I love the bulldog more, or the poodle with attitude!
Someone give that poor dog something to eat!
And martians.
I asked for a martian very pretty please because when I saw her martians I fell in love.
And she sent me one. This is such a cool scrap!

I didn't even know about the cats, but Fiona sent me some cats.
We've got Pascal and Tiger.

But best of all we have Helen!
You would think that was more than enough. It was more than I expected or hoped for. But also in the package was one of Fiona's most amazing embroideries. Fiona embroiders like a dream, and uses colour as well as she does in her quilts. I should be ashamed to be so pleased to have this, but I am not because it is wonderful to have something made so well by someone who's work you admire so much.

An embroidered patchwork quilt. Perfect!
So Christmas continues to come early in this house. A huge thank you to Fiona and please let me know if you need any further favours done. With nothing in return. I really am happy to do it just because.

Susan
