It Has Begun!

Yup, the countdown to Christmas has begun. Last night the girls ramped up the excitement by filling their advent calendars. I really like that they get so happy about each little tradition. The joy they find in it all. Each year they do not know what chocolates I will purchase for the calendars and Helen has told me that is part of the anticipation. Good!

You can't beat those moments when siblings are in total harmony.
Ready and waiting.
Cheesy grins...
... all round!
The girls have also requested that I show you their new slippers. They thought you would like to see them. Who am I to argue? So be still your beating hearts and please do not let the excitement get to you too much!

I think you can guess which one of them these belong to!
No cold feet here this winter.
Today started with them stuffing their first chocolates in their faces shortly after 7am. Yup, the countdown has most definitely began.

  3. I am a bad mother - totally forgot the advent calendars and dropped kids off at school promising something in them on their return! Now waiting for various people to call round before I can get out sweetie hunting! You are such a good mum Susan! Do your kids know how lucky they are???

  4. You are such a good mama! I did not know where the advent calendar even was (nor the Christmas tree) until we just went hunting for them just now. However, luckily all was redeemed and I happened to have enough chocolate freddos in the pantry to fill it up. I can't believe that actually happened but they happened to be on special this week!

  6. What a lovely family ritual with the advent calendars. I love slippers-- just bought a new pair myself on sale. I love those Hello Kitty ones, especially. Happy feet for all! Slippers are one of those little things you (or at least I) appreciate!

  15. I completely forgot out advent calendar. i have one that I made that I put sweets in to and it is still in the loft, and I also didn't even get any chocolate ones. I blame the shops for putting them out too early and then you keep thinking you have loads of time.... Bad mother award for me today (oh yeah, and tesco and asda had sold out this evening too)

  16. There's nothing wrong with a pre-breakfast snack of chocolate.

No kids here so we don't do advent calendars any more . I keep blabbing on about making one for Little P but it hasn't happened yet.

Love the purple slippers . I have a white fluffy pair here that are almost identical. But I like the pink ones too!

  17. that's what christmas is all about - when my kids were little we used to put the tree up together on christmas eve - they're too big now, so the tree isn't even making an appearance - might have to find a nice branch to paint and put on the table (have to show off the runner and the gorgeous decos lynne made!)
