I Love Mondays

You can tell I am a stay at home mother just by the title of today's blog post. It is peaceful here today, which is more than can be said about yesterday. Yes, we had all the fun of Christmas decorating yesterday. But I also had two very overtired girls. It was not pretty as the day progressed. I won't say more on the matter, other than to reiterate that I am really enjoying my Monday!

I am still working on my hand stitching project, now on the last block and debating whether I need/should do a line of hand stitching all around the border. The quilter in me says do it because it will tie it all in together. The person trying to get it finished for Christmas says, 'Oh please!'

The decision has not yet been made. I am going to finish the last block first and see if I can tick a few more boxes off my list of other things to do. I still have himself's family to make things for, and a couple of my family members too. I wonder who my latest finish could be for?

More Etchings.
This time I broke into my charm pack as well as using up scraps.
Some perle cotton detail.
I've used unbleached cotton for the back.
I rather like the contrast between the unbleached and the Etchings.
And then I stuffed it full with a cushion innard purchased from Denholm Mill,
which I can do now that they have an outlet in Banbury.
I am pleased with this finish. I am not so pleased that I failed to get a make done for the big giveaway day today over at Sew Mama Sew. I did want to but there were too many other pressing concerns, like Christmas. Does this big giveaway happen in the Springtime too when I might have a bit more spare time to prepare?

I will leave you with a hint of why I am smiling a lot today, besides the fact that I am alone. One of my Christmas presents has been purchased.
