Balls

Life is always interesting, but sometimes I feel like I have more balls in the air than I can juggle properly. Seriously, with real balls I can't properly juggle two. I lack coordination totally. But in life, everything going on and general busyness, I am keeping all the balls in the air but do not think that I am giving any of them my proper attention.

So I am going to drop a few balls temporarily. One of those balls is this blog of mine that I love so much. I may stop by occasionally but I am going to make a concerted effort to not post for the next couple of weeks for the most part.

I'll still be sewing, and blog reading - though I have cut back on commenting to save time of late. I'll be here, just quieter than normal. No big worries going on, don't let your imagination run wild. Nothing bad at all. I just need to focus on some other stuff for a bit.

Before you know it I will be back. You may not even notice I've been gone. You too are busy after all. You might be cheering right now, looking forward to a break from my chatter. Whatever you are doing, enjoy it.

If you are on Instagram you might see me around. I can be found at @canadianabroad there.

I will leave you with a progress photo of the hand stitching on the Walk in the Woods baby quilt. I am doing free form stitching in wavy lines. It's adding lots of texture and I love it, though it is rather different in terms of quilting.

I'll be back before you know it.

Susan

  5. Hurry back as I'm not on instagram and not sure I could cope with adding any more social media. I do get what a pressure it is keeping up. I wasn't online for a few days because I was out and about and I came back to so much that needed my attention.

  8. Yeah, you do post too much ;) Honestly I'd run out of stuff to talk about. Have a nice blog holiday!

P.S. I'm going to Toronto for a few days in October but it's currently a secret from Alex as it's his birthday present...

Please ignore last comment from my work account, I could get into trouble for using it!

  13. Sometimes it's good to step back or else everything becomes an obligation rather than fun. You will be missed very much, but it's right to prioritise when there's a lot going on. Take care and be happy! See you soon!

  40. It wasn't until I started my own blog that I realised how long it actually takes to write a post -and you write/wrote one everyday! How? And even looking online for recipes for people who really don't expect it! Enjoy your break. You deserve it. But I will miss your posts :( (runs off to add on IG)

  45. Oh great! Well I've dropped my balls, all of them and lost them too. Don't know where I am really, but realised I've really missed catching up with you. So here I am, and you've gone - humph!! Oh well, I totally understand and will just have to amuse myself by reading back over all your blog posts I've not read :) Do what you need to do, but hope you come back to blogging xx

    ReplyDelete
  46. I set the balls down (or out-right drop them) on a regular basis. In fact, I'm catching up after two weeks of not having time to read anyone. I completely understand where you're at, and must say that it always amazed me that you found time to post DAILY. Find your bliss. :-) I'm subscribed so I'll know if you pop back but if you start a whole new blog, you have to tell us, 'kay? :-)

  47. Hhhmmm - so long as you are sure you are ok. There are a few of us who love your chatter (I have missed it over my hiatus with reports). Here if you need anything. Hugs x

  48. Well well well... I totally missed this post because I'm sporadic with my reading at the moment but I just came looking because I'd noticed you hadn't popped in my feed for a while. So there you go, you have definitely been missed **blows kisses.
I'd also noticed you hadn't commented in a while so I'm glad to see it is an intentional break. Not that I expect you to, but I miss you when you don't :)
We should try and Skype soon. So much to catch up on now that it would never fit in an email. Plus I'm just so stressed out about this darn house business that its eating away all my time. Fingers crossed it is all resolved soon

  49. Thanks for the idea for the threads - I have several of these too & have not used them yet.
Maybe I could hand quilt something?? Stop laughing brain, it could totally happen. LOL

Are you going to FQR this year?

  51. So you took a break just when I became so busy that all I have had to talk about is the birds. I am sorry I did not notice this till today, I am still at 999 posts to read in my reader but that is better than it was a couple of days ago. I hope you are enjoying the start of summer, we are, although it is flooding all over the south of the province.
