I am really second guessing myself here on the Framed Purse Swap. I have started -rather randomly - appliquéing the hexies down on a charcoal background for the purse. I liked the almost black background showing off the colours, but I don't know if my partner will like it. I'm thinking some perle cotton to relieve the dark, dark grey too.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Susan
This is lovely. I don't think it needs any perle, but then that would be your trademark on it! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great! I think I'd wait and see how it looks when all the hexagons are in place before deciding on perle but I'd probably end up adding some - I'm not sure I could resist ;o)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the way you've quilted your diamond hexies (last post!) - I love them and want to make one just like it...one day!!
If it's for me I love it!!Perle will only add to the beauty!
ReplyDeleteI love it as it is, but I think you can only add to it with the perle.
ReplyDeleteNever known you to make a wrong decision with your use of perle yet. When you've finished the applique you'll know what to do, O wise one!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks gorgeous Susan, and I'm sure a little touch of perle handstitching will make it even prettier.
ReplyDeleteR x
I phoned.....and you couldn't speak because you were driving the car. Unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteBig Bro
Loving the hexies!
ReplyDeleteHexies are lovely and you can't beat a bit of perle
ReplyDeleteOooh, fun! The perle would look great too :o)
ReplyDeleteOh go knock yourself out with the perle - it looks great x
ReplyDeletePerle in some of the pretty jewelled colours would add an extra dimension IMHO.
ReplyDeleteOooh it's going to be so cute. I love the colours against the dark background - it looks like a rainbow in a winter sky!
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't be you without it.... Go for it girl :)
ReplyDeleteI am sure your partner will not like it. Finish it off and drive the car to the post office and send it to me. Or maybe to your partner after all as I did not really mean that first bit.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely - the colours look wonderful with the charcoal.
ReplyDeleteI think you should wait till you've finished - then decide. Not sure if the perle would highlight the contrast or take it away. I always have a go!
ReplyDeleteGreat shade of charcoal, really brings out the colours.
ReplyDeleteMmmm! I am sure you will find the right touch for it - you always do!
