Attempt one. |
Slight improvement. |
And all pixelated out because Helen is not allowed to see it yet. Just that one wee star nice and clear for her. |
So, other than that small victory, I have a question for you. Am I the only one of us who leaves the grocery store these days clutching the receipt and scanning it like a mad woman hoping that somehow they rang in my green beans 100 times rather than once and that was why it all came to so much?
Susan
I love wonky stars. I have to make a quilt with stars! Someday ....
ReplyDeleteI quite like that pixalated version...that would be a cool quilt to make :o)
ReplyDeleteAnd no you aren't the only one gasping every time they leave the grocery store. My DH keeps saying...where does it all go!? Seems the cost of eating is at a ridiculous level at the moment!
You probably grip harder than I since you cook waaaaaay more than I. Lol
ReplyDeleteThe star looks great but I'm afraid I chuckled at your first photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I do that too! A couple of years ago a cheap weekly shop for me (i.e. no washing powder or household stuff, just food and milk) was about £20. Now it's at least double that...it's a good job Archie doesn't eat much!
Had you had a little drinky before sewing the first attempt? ;-) Love the star and am equally peed off with the cost of food at the minute, the extra pounds are eating into my fabric budget!!
ReplyDeleteSO SMART!!! you know how to do every thing. WOW
ReplyDeleteNope you are not alone, I check my receipt every time, especially here in France. Supermarkets very often have offers in their magazine, but forget (yeah right) to alter the price on the tills...I am always stood at the desk complaining LOL Check every time, with the amount of stuff they sell they are bound to make mistakes....and it's never in your favour!! I bought a blouse last week, the label said 12 Euros, they charged me 15 Euros!!! See...always in their favour. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove that little star and you are like a kid with a new toy on the photo editing!
ReplyDeleteWith you on the grocery receipt - half time there's not even anything for a whole meal in my trolley! Bummer - don't they know I need fabric spending money and they're sucking it up!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me laugh that Asda keep going on about all these goods at just £1 Just £1??? It seems bloomin expensive for most of them! I do get obsessed by doing the asda price guarantee check. Loving your sneak peek btw!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo for the block (final version) - and boo hiss for having to live of 2for1s!
ReplyDeleteWoot, I'm so behind on this month o.O I also double check all my offers came through at Tesco/Sainsburys...
ReplyDeletePerfect block for Helen. Our grocery bills have gone up too. Glad we don't have 4 hungry teen boys to feed anymore.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I am always checking my receipt! Love the block
ReplyDeleteI just stick to a liquid diet and hope for the best ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's the beans it's that bottle of wine girl - or two!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! It's the price of bread that gets me! Cute star! Jxo
ReplyDeletethe star looks great. Other people have been buying the groceries so I haven't noticed the prices ..
ReplyDeleteLove wonky stars. Love Kona Ash. Very impressed with the pixelating. And I always check the grocery store receipt. Neurotically, in fact.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks really nice (and I got to see the whole thing!)
ReplyDeleteWonky stars are so cute! And yes, I think we all check our dockets as everything is so expensive these days:(
ReplyDeleteVery nice wonky star, and look at you with your pixelated photo, there's no stopping you now.
ReplyDeleteYep the price of groceries has certainly skyrocketed over the last 12 months.
I love your first attempt! It made me properly laugh! Groceries are INSANE now - we reckon we spend more or less double what we were spending when I first stopped work and started budgeting our food shop about four years ago. I regularly check the receipts to see what on earth we've bought, maybe a tin of caviar slipped in there somewhere...
ReplyDeleteAm with you 100% on the groceries thing. I'm on my own and I shop for 2 weeks. It rarely comes under £110. Crazy as it sounds its the fresh fruit and veg...not cheap. Love your teeny tiny star :-)
ReplyDeleteOOOh!!!!!!Can you hear me squeaking with excitement!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are killing me with these sneaky peeks. SHOW ME! I am dying to see!
ReplyDeleteLove your little star! And also, the new look of your blog. Donna
ReplyDeleteI love the wonky star! I have some of these on the agenda but I am taking a detour to make up some of the FQR uglies into some quilts for Linus. Maybe I will put some into the Linus quilts??
ReplyDeleteI can feel your pain on the grocery bill - just did the online shopping & spent 130 pounds!! It does not help that we need to buy gluten free products which really ramp up the price :/
Hope you had a great weekend.
Lush x
Looking good with the wonky star Susan.
ReplyDeleteThe benefit of online grocery shopping is that I get a running tally as I go along ...no nasty surprises! But groceries are still way too expensive generally.
I love the wanky stars looks good.
