I've had an unintentionally busy day today. Not busy in an exhausting way but in a way that kept me away from my sewing. But I did get my HSTs trimmed yesterday and played with layouts last night. I had to use the flash to take photos so the colours are not very true but you will get an idea of the fun I have when left alone with HSTs. The combinations are endless and I do get carried away.
|
This was my original intention for the HST layout. |
|
But I got to moving those HSTs about. |
|
It got a little weird. |
|
Then a whole lot bizarre.
(I was getting tired after all.) |
|
But this was my eventual conclusion.
And I love it. |
If you think that my final decision is completely wrong for this please speak up now before I proceed to the piecing stage tomorrow. Total lack of sewing time today means that there is still time to stop me!
Susan
LOVE the last one, go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteP.s. the middle ones are completely mullered.
Love the last one - off to read the posts I've missed whilst I've been AWOL!
ReplyDeleteMy personal favourite is the last one. Have fun. Di xo
ReplyDeleteSome great designs! Love them all!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's making my eyes go slightly funny looking at it but that last one is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I love the beginning and the end. The first one's great because it's simple but dramatic. The final one is so creative, without being weird.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long day and I think trimming your HSTs sounds vaguely saucy. Like I said. It's been a long day!
ReplyDeleteLike them all.
loved the first one till i got to the last one :))).............beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks for showing us the last design, I have HST die for my GO, I need to go and cut some now! Linda
ReplyDeleteI like the last one best, but I do think weird and bizarre have potential
ReplyDeletedefinately the last one. Good luck with all that sewing!
ReplyDeleteYou've had a fun time with these! Have you seen what Rachael has done with hers? I think there are some larger HST's in he design but it may appeal to you too?

The last design is stunning! My hat's off to you, and the black with the vibrant colours is a-may-zing!! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn
Love your choice! Really like the colour palette of the fabrics too :)
ReplyDeleteI like it best.
ReplyDeleteLove the last one, you chose well! fI
ReplyDeleteYour final version totally rocks, Susan! I love it :)
ReplyDeleteThe last one is my fave :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Love that final one (just like everyone else). I don't have a design wall. I guess I need one now.
ReplyDeleteglad you got them all done, hows the back? I like the first and last options, am afraid I'm with laura, two in the middle look mullered! Its looking great though, really lush colours :-)
ReplyDeleteLove no.1 and and last one too! Stunning! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not the one to stop you, I'm going to cheer you on (as everybody else, it seems ;)) This final design looks great, can't wait to see it as a quilt.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely think the last one is the best, perfect!
ReplyDeleteOoooh I likey likey! I like version 2 as well.
ReplyDeleteSorry also for being so quiet. Neil is leaving today... So even my blog posts have been scheduled in advance. I'll be back tomorrow though. Promise!
I liked the first until I saw the last. I LOVE IT! Get to quilting ASAP as I can't wait to see this beauty finished! xx
ReplyDeleteFirst and last for me too! Last one is more original I'd say! Go for it!
ReplyDeleteThe last one is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove it - what if you turned ALL the pieces so the middle square was the Terrain not the solid?
ReplyDeleteJust saying; you could always turn them all back round afterwards!
Wow you are a quick trimmer. Love the first and last ones!
ReplyDeleteI think you're right on the money my friend. That last layout is da bomb!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous!
Either the first or last are stunners. Since you love the last one hold on to that love and go for it! Woohoo! Much better than something you feel bleh about.
ReplyDeleteI love the first and the last. I think from the list of comments, the last one is a resounding success. Although now I'm intrigued to see what it would look like with Hadley's suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI love the last arrangement Susan and I really like the dark blue with the Terrain !
ReplyDeleteI think your choice is great, but I would also love to see it turned the way Hadley suggests, just in case that is better. The best part of a bunch of HSTs is playing with the design possibilities!
ReplyDeleteLove it, it totally jumped out at me as "the one"!
ReplyDeleteAs I scrolled down to each new one, I'd think... oh that's an interesting way to rearrange them. Then I got to the last one and went WOW! So as others have said... Go for it.
ReplyDeleteoh my, you are a super busy bee. I finally made one bee block today. 5 more to go!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the last one. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same as Hadley, to turn them so the middle is Terrain! The first and last are also my favourites :)
ReplyDeleteI like it, in fact I was doing the same thing but including sunflowers with black. I love it. Good job.
ReplyDeleteI have saved this on Pinterest and although I have thousands, literally, of quilt pins, this one is the one getting the most saves. Good job!
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the finished size of the blocks or the finished size of the quilt
