FWQAL Progress Report

I thought I was getting really far along with my blocks for the Farmer's Wife Quilt-a-Long. Then I counted up the finished blocks. I have done twenty, including the two I am unveiling today. Hmmm! I guess I have a lot more to do than I thought. Never mind, I don't have a date it must be done by. It will be done when it is done. A darn good thing I didn't commit myself to the full 111 blocks though!

I am quite pleased with my latest blocks. One was super easy but I like that I put thread on my spool. The other was much more difficult but I think I did a good job on the points this time and I like the way the colours work. Here they are. I will let you judge for yourself.

No. 84 - Spool
No. 87 - Star Gardener
Star Gardener - that is such a great name for a block. It was hard work but I want to make another one just because I love the name. Would I love it as much if it was much bigger and I didn't have to fiddle with all those 1" HSTs when they are all pieced? Would this look just as amazing as a 12" block? After all September is my month for the Brit Bee. Could I torture my bee mates with all those HSTs? (Oh, I would love to see their faces right now!)

My holiday is almost over and soon I will driving south again. Most likely to hear stories about how the sun never stopped shining the whole time we were away and the rain only just started falling. I hate when that happens. As I am writing this post in advance maybe a miracle happened and Aberdeen had a rare and unusual heat wave. One can but live in hope.
