I am sat watching the Olympics, hand stitching my Sew Stitchy quilt. Marvelling at the similarities between myself and the athletes. Um, yeah, right! Well, I am watching the Olympics and it is stopping me from eating, all those fit people with flat stomachs - so something good is coming of it.
I am approaching the last 20% of the quilting task. Am I am still really pleased with how I decided to do it. For me the hexies work with this pattern and fabric. Maybe I just have hexies on the brain these days.
Unfortunately I am a bit worried I will run out of perle before I run out of quilt to be quilted. I may have to place an emergency order shortly.
And this is what the stitching looks like a little closer. (No collages again as Picmonkey is still not working for me. Why?!)
I am determined to stitch today until I am done, or the thread runs out - whichever comes first. Cross your fingers for me that it is the former, not the latter that happens.
Susan
that's fab! what a gerat idea to stitch in hexies!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your quilting design!! Have fun, I hope the thread magically lasts until the end of the quilting!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! Your hexie quilting is ideal!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, its perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your choices. It perfectly compliments Aneela's lovely fabric too.
Oh I love that, what a great idea! Hope your thread lasts until the end!
ReplyDeleteClever quilting, really suits the fabrics too :-) Hope your stitchy desire runs out before the perle...
ReplyDeleteAre you just eyeballing those hexagons as they look great and are perfect for this quilt. I take the pins out as I go to make the quilt lighter and lighter to work with, are they needed once you have quilted a part?
ReplyDeleteGreat motif! Works so well as you say! My fingers and toes are crossed but a re-order would be wise as it is a great colour!
ReplyDeleteYou have nailed it with the hexy quilting- hope the thread lasted till the end x

ReplyDeleteYour quilting looks super. I just finished my first attempt at big stitch quilting using the advice you gave in your tutorial. It was lots of fun and turned out pretty good. Thanks for the help!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good and you are once again the queen of hand quilting.
ReplyDeletethe quilting on this one is inspired - and hope you don't run out of perle - but I have a suspicion you might :(
