In my carefully organised calendar that I keep in my mind I knew this week was going to be busy. But I clearly had today marked down for sewing. In big red letters.
The weekend was busy - in a good way - as planned. Tuesday was an out all day sort of day - in a good way again. Wednesday was the girls' friends here and then a sleepover for them too. All went perfectly to plan.
What I failed to take into account was not how tired the girls would be today - that was why it was to be a stay home and veg day today, with me sewing - I planned for this. What I stupidly did not plan for was the fact that I would be the one most exhausted by the sleepover. Lord love us, but I am tired!
This is all I managed to accomplish in my 'whole day' of sewing.
A whole whack of scrappy binding that I need for a particular project. That is it! Nothing else got accomplished other than attempting to nap and failing dismally, and playing on the computer.
No sewing will get done tonight either. Because I have a date, with himself (just in case you were wondering). We are off to see Reginald D Hunter. I am looking forward to this. I hope he is even funnier live than he is on television with all censorship removed.
Susan
Well, at least you achieved SOME sewing, where as here, nada! Enjoy your date! I'm quite envious of the destination!
ReplyDeleteHa - know just what you mean!
ReplyDeleteI don't have sleepovers in my house - I can't bear them!
ReplyDeleteI never understood the "sleepover". No one sleeps! But that being said, you did get a bit of sewing accomplished and everyone needs a veg day. Enjoy your date!
ReplyDeleteBeats me why they're called sleepovers in the first place!
ReplyDeleteExcellent alliteration there!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty good achievement I'd say!
ReplyDeleteAt least you made something pretty! Have a great night x
ReplyDeleteGreat binding though!
ReplyDeleteI've made little things today - which turn out to be a whole lot of work but you just have something tiny to show for it!
Oooo Chicopee! I am quite impressed with your sewing output - b elieve me, I have achieved much less on a sewing day! Have seen Reginald D Hunter live and he was very, very funny. Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteYou're allowed to be tired!
ReplyDeleteSay hello to Reginald. We think he is very cool in this house.
ReplyDeleteHalf term for me means no daylight sewing or blogging, or catching up on blogs either, so you've done well to do as much as you have! That binding looks amazing. Right, I must focus, I've bunting to make, a drawstring bag and a blog to update, all hopefully before midnight!! PS have a fab evening, sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteWell the binding looks lovely but I can't believe you swore in your title! I've had no sewing time for 2 days and am grouchy - i forget how exhausting school holidays are and by the evening i'm too tired to do anything except drink wine and watch telly! :o)
ReplyDeleteSleepovers!!! I hope you had wine x
ReplyDeleteA slow day isn't a crime and te binding is pretty. Enjoy tonight. Di x
ReplyDeleteSleep overs scare me a bit as our 6yr old will keep going til 10/11pm when friends are overr (by which time we're all tantruming!), goodness knows how late it will be once they build up stamina! Well done on the binding, it is pretty :) Enjoy the show x
ReplyDeletePretty binding! The idea of a sleepover at my house makes me shudder. Please let that me a long way off!
ReplyDeleteSleep overs can be that way. I hope you're able to recover. The binding looks great even if it was the only thing done...
ReplyDeleteHaving had boys, sleepovers were not a big thing- thank goodness! Your binding is much more than the zilch I've done in the last two days! Don't beat yourself up- you will benefit from the little break.
ReplyDeleteStill more sewing than me, damn! Have a good night tonight, but remember you need to get a good nights sleep for your visitors tomorrow :o)
ReplyDeleteIt's better than nowt, which is what I did. Also got a job to sew up a bazillion napkins in yucky polyester football shirt material that has complely killed my mojo and made me want to avoid the sewing room at all costs! Must make them ASAP so I can fun sew again!
ReplyDeleteIt is so much better than most. I was having a sewing day today instead of which I had a migraine day. So nothing of anything got done. In fact I've had a perfectly crap month!!! Sunday I am so sewing!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. you are allowed to have a tired day. You have small people and these small people have been on half term all week. Love P xxx
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of sewing in that binding...
ReplyDeleteWell at least you did get that cool binding made:) I had planned to do some sewing yesterday too, then the sewing machine light wouldn't come on as the bulb had blown so I didn't get much done either!
ReplyDeleteI slept like a baby this afternoon, drooling wide open mouth an all!! Not pretty! LOVE scrappy binding. jxo
ReplyDeleteBinding is good!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great evening, bet he was fantastic x
Age catching up with you, he he! Hope you had a great evening and didn't fall asleep!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat, you mean you'd forgotten sleepovers involve no sleep? ;o) Hope the date went well...
ReplyDeleteHilarious. Thanks Susan for that diversion to a video of RDH's on a friday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know what you mean....I'm glad sleepover days are over in this house. Exhausting. My son broke his arm in a pillow fight at one "sleep"over. Primeval Screams at 2am is not a good idea in the neighbourhood.
Hope you had a lovely night out. Sleepovers here are so loud and we live mid terrace, so I always worry about the neighbours
ReplyDeleteAre you going all the way to Newcastle to see him or have I read the programme wrongly?? Lovely binding - hope you are feeling brighter today :)
ReplyDeleteOkay so this was posted yesterday so you went to Northampton *blushes*
ReplyDeleteyes but just think how awesome it will be next time to start binding a quilt without having to make the binding first? Have a nice weekend x
ReplyDeleteThat is 100% more sewing than I did yesterday. Came home from work and felt so tired I laid on the sofa all afternoon then went out for a meal with a friend!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Reginald Hunter, have fun. And don't be too upset that you've needed to rest, it's allowed ;)
