Well enough of that! Things are super busy round here and I have a s**tload to get done. But today I decided that it was time to be thankful for all the good stuff in my life rather than focusing on the things that have been less than stellar. My life is full of love and laughter, and I am blessed with so many things. While I luxuriated in the spa last week some people in the world were having a horrible time.
Jennifer, over at Knotted Thread, has stepped forward to spearhead a drive to collect in pieced blocks to make quilts for some of the victims of Hurricane Sandy. People who have lost all their belongings, if not their homes too. If you would like to join in helping Jennifer in this very important endeavour then please follow this link to the Flickr group. She is asking for blocks, or you could donate supplies, time, money - whatever. Today I made blocks. Super simple, quick and such a small thing to do in the scheme of things.
|Please note, the colours are not nearly as dismal as the photos suggest.|
Photography in today's available light was less than forgiving.
When I finished those blocks I turned my hand to blocks for Bee Blessed, another very worthy and unsung quilting charity run by Judith and Sarah in Northern Ireland. Information about November's block can be found here. I am almost finished these two blocks.
Now, on a completely different note. The stats for this blog have been going up far more quickly than expected of late. Until you take into consideration that the level of spam I have been receiving has been going up in direct proportion. While I would like to think these numbers were people who are there to read this blog it is quite obvious not the case at all. I got over two dozen spam emails while I slept last night. Therefore I have switched off the ability of anonymous people to comment on my blog. Most people who comment on my blog are not anonymous. Only one pops to mind immediately, which is a lovely lady called Donna who leaves the nicest of comments that I can never reply to. So Donna, if you are reading this, please do not take offence. I love getting comments from you when you have the time to leave them but if you remain anonymous you won't be able to comment any more. Sorry!
