How to Summarize a Week

Well, we are home. Proof positive of that is I am on my second load of laundry already. Reality bites sometimes. But that does not take away from the wonderful week we have had away - me, the girls and my mum.

We went to Center Parcs in Cumbria. We have been before so knew that we loved it there. For those of you who have no idea what to expect at a Center Parcs think ideal family environment for having fun. The lodges are all mini houses with fully fitted kitchens, etc. Cars are only allowed in when checking in and leaving so the roads are virtually car free during the week and everyone bikes and walks to get where they need to be. And there is a lot to do. Many activities cost money - but biking, roasting marshmallows on the fire, and swimming in the huge indoor complex are yours to enjoy.

We stayed here -

And played here. Taking photos of kids in pools is not easy - unless you manage to sneak up on them. And it's darn near impossible when they are on a water slide.

The girls did a pony trek through the beautiful Cumbria countryside.

And I signed them up for a willow weaving class. Remind me in the future to check what size of object they are going to weave! Honestly, the garden support structures they made are fantastic but do you know what it was like trying to fit these in the car along with everything, and everyone, else for our return home?

They dressed for Halloween, even though the parc requested no trick or treating. I think that was a hard one on them, but they roasted their marshmallows and took it in relatively good grace.

Finally, I spent four hours here -

- on Thursday. I have never spent time in a spa before. Why not?!! Total bliss. I thought about chaining myself to an unmoveable object and refusing to leave. The back massage was heaven but the facial I had was not only fabulous but the therapist who did it told me I didn't need anti-aging products because I had great skin. I told her I loved her.

  21. So glad you had a lovely time and you were able to have some "me" time too.
I expect to see those willow structures used next year for all the vegetables you are going to plant. Either that or you could send them to Di, to support her tomatoes!

Might have to suggest that to Neil's mum for when we come over for her 60th as it will fit the lot of us & have plenty for the kiddos to do.
