I managed to piece my first two Star Flowers with the DS fabrics and the grey background. I for one love them. More than I thought I would. To the point that I want to finish this project for the person it is going to just so I can start one for myself.
Now the grey one in the middle is a wild card. Not sure if I should be going with this or not. I would appreciate opinions please. I can always use it somewhere else if you think it would look out of place in this eventual cushion.
Susan
I like the grey but would want to add at least one more into the mix, though I don't know how many stars you are planning. They all look great!
ReplyDeleteI like the grey - but if i's going to be the only one maybe it'll look a bit different? I guess you can't evaluate until you have all the potential blocks done?
ReplyDeleteoh so lush!!! I love them all and think they grey looks great! These are the most gorgeous fabrics Susan!
ReplyDeleteThey look lovely! I love the all grey but you will probably need to make the call when they are all together.
ReplyDeleteDid my voting, good luck.
Lush x
OMG I cant tell you how much I love these! And keep the grey, for sure :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG I cant tell you how much I love these! And keep the grey, for sure :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the grey one but then that is one of my favourite fabrics. See how it looks as you get all the rest done as it will certainly work somewhere. The flowers are great.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI like the grey, but if it were me, I think I would change the diamonds rounds its edge for colours, then it will look super cool.
xxxx
I LOVE these star flower shapes. Might need to start one myself... :o)
ReplyDeleteWow these look AWESOME! I like the grey!
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I am undecided on the grey though. I like Liz's suggestion, what about doing the flower in the greys of the borders and then a colourful background. Then it will be in reverse, if that makes sense. Just a thought!
ReplyDeleteLove em all! Keep going - right track as usual!
ReplyDeleteall gorgeous! go for it!
ReplyDeleteOh deffo keep the grey one - it could be the equiv. of Di's retro flower quilt where she inverted one of the flowers. Your cushion will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like these stars. How many are you making? Maybe another grey one to balance things out
ReplyDeleteThey are fabulous, absolute beauties! I would certainly keep the grey.
ReplyDeleteI agree - keep the grey
ReplyDeleteThese are all lovely, I vote you keep the grey.
ReplyDeleteOh I am loving these, can't wait to start doing some.... Hugs x
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, and definitely keep the grey one!
ReplyDeleteI love the little rogue grey one! But I would also keep my options open until you decide on the final design! You'll know, when the time comes! It could always go on the back or be made into a matching mug rug!
ReplyDeleteThey're lovely - one of the nicest things I have seen made with FMF. I like the grey but am with Isisjem, that I think you will need the rest of the blocks to decide whether it should stay - however if you are going with the 5 blocks shown and no more then I think it would look lovely as the centre block (otherwise it might look a little unbalanced)
ReplyDeleteThey look fabulous. I have to get back to working on mine.
ReplyDeleteI love the grey, keep going and see what it looks like when you've made all that you need.
I'd make all the others and then see if the grey fits in.
ReplyDeleteYay for the grey - it's as beautiful as the others xxx
ReplyDeleteI think the grey would work if you made it the focal piece in the centre of the cushion.
ReplyDeleteLove whats happening so far !
Those stars are great! I love the contrast of the stars with the grey background!
ReplyDeletei love the grey one but i love them all
ReplyDeleteWhat is there not to like? They are great. Di x
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! The pretty grey one would look nice in the centre maybe?
ReplyDeleteI like they grey. I don't know if you should leave it all by itself or have a couple of them or centre it or what, but I do know I really like it. And I adore the pink. I think you won't know til your putting them all together, and then it'll be obvious whether it stays, goes or needs a friend. Or maybe even keeping it as a loner but using that dark grey as your border fabric?
ReplyDeletePoint of the ramble - I like it.
E
love them all, don't ditch the grey x
ReplyDeleteI love these, the soft grey background is just perfect. Depending on where you are heading could the all grey baby go in the middle?
ReplyDeleteI think they are all spectacular! Your fabric choices are stunning! Jxo
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I love epp and ds so these are a no brainier for me, I knew that when you first posted about them they'd be great!
ReplyDeletewell I do love grey so I'd keep it and review once the others are done. These blocks are really lovely and the FMF is looking very nice. i have a stash of it but no idea what to make with it yet.
ReplyDeleteit needs to be evaluated when you have completed the others - if you're only doing 3, then i'd say probably not - love your flowers btw
ReplyDeleteYes to the grey as a one off until a whole lot more are made. It might give a nice Quiet spot to rest the eyes or it might end up looking bland...so... reserve judgement! The pinks and blues are a winner!
ReplyDeleteYes I like the idea of the grey one, but maybe a coloured background so that you reverse the colours completely
ReplyDeletethey are gorgeous. Yes, I love the grey on grey, keep it!
ReplyDeletePretty pretty! Yes, keep that little grey one. I like it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with everyone else...I love the grey!
ReplyDeleteI like the gray... A place to rest your eyes!
