I Lied

I lied when I said I would not show another photo of the Modern Christmas Tablerunner until I could get a half decent photograph in the sunshine. Because there has not been any sunshine, but I have finished the runner.

I took these photos at noon today. I had to enlist the aid of the flash on my camera for some of them. When we over here in the UK have been complaining of lack of light we have been doing so for very good reason. All that being said, I am happy with this finish.

The snowflakes done in white perle on white cotton do not show up very well in the photos but I think they add a nice subtle touch to the runner. Subtle is not something that you come across often in my blog so enjoy it while you can.

I still need to make a Christmas decoration to go into this swap parcel but the main bit is done, ahead of time at that. Once this is posted I will be swap free for two or three months. There is enough to do with Christmas presents to be made, etc.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Susan

  1. Susan, it's beautiful and the snowflakes are just the right touch!

Here on the Canadian prairie we've had a lack of sunshine also, which is most unusual.

  4. It is fab! If I wasn't so rubbish at hand sewing (and EPP in particular) I'd be seriously tempted to make a version of this.

  7. I could cope with the foggy grey if I could just get THAT song outta my head!!
Mind you yesterday I had "Life in a Northern Town" on repeat so I guess it's a change of sorts. LOL
Love the runner, wish I was not so busy with moving & business stuff, sewing has taken a back seat :(

  8. This maybe my favourite in the whole swap. I'm not feeling smug that I've done my decoration as I've not done my runner. I have though done some really crap drawings and posted them to the group for everyone to see.

  12. You are right about how {dark} it is in the UK atm. I needed my car headlights on all day today, it was that grim.

  24. Sunlight? Well it is nearly the middle of winter you know ;o)

    Great job anyway :o)

PS, it's better to have overcast days than sun for evenly lit photographs
