I still had the final borders to put on. So I did that. Now I am contemplating how to piece something into the backing fabric so that it is wide enough. I hate piecing backing fabrics but it is a necessary evil. And I do love this quilt top just as much as ever so a little bit of pain in the backing will lead me that much closer to my completed HR Fan Club quilt (aka Mine, All Mine!). This can only be a good thing.

Super beautiful quilt. Can't say I blame you about the backing dilemma, but you're right, it's a necessary evil and gets us that much closer to a finish. Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

ReplyDeleteI love the look of pieced backs but often don't want to make them. I bought some on sale sheets to use as backs for those days. I think your quilt is looking wonderful
ReplyDeleteI love a good pieced back, it means you can turn the quilt over when you spill something on it and keep using it. Not that i've ever done that. Nope.

ReplyDeleteI really like how this is looking. I hate piecing quilt backs too - well, I don't mind piecing them,it's just so hard to line them up properly when basting!

ReplyDeleteI always stall at piecing the backing too. That and basting just don't hold my attention. I tend to walk away from projects at this stage. But your HR quilt is beautiful, so that would keep me going too.
