I am so sorry. I have let every quilter down. I did something that I swore never to do. That goes against the grain totally, for just about all of us.
Sob!
I... I... I hemmed a pair of trousers.
Does it make it any better that I used a rotary cutter to trim them to length and sewed them with my 1/4" foot?
I promise to never do it again.
Susan
Ups... I did too.
ReplyDeleteThat's it, you're off the Christmas card list... ;o)
ReplyDeleteI'm presuming that you did this through love for a child?? In which case you are forgiven!
ReplyDelete(I do it all the time - shhh! In my defence, I'm 5 foot nothing.... )
ReplyDeleteI owe a lot of apologies...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had to :-( Didnt it dull your rotary cutter?!
ReplyDeleteWe forgive you.... I guess! Ha, ha! Thanks for the chuckle!
ReplyDeleteIt happens to the best of us...
ReplyDeleteI've heard it comes to us all in the end... I've only ever had to lengthen mine though, sorry!
ReplyDeleteI've done it too...but not since I got back into quilting so does it even count? ;-)
ReplyDelete*unfriend*
ReplyDelete;0P
But, but not really!
I will let you off this time. hee hee
Haha...well at least it is still fabric! 😉
ReplyDeleteSo it's YOUR fault my husband asked me to fix a pair of shorts this morning!
ReplyDeleteI do it all the time however I still haven't got the hang of a blind hem, maybe now you're the expert you can teach me?! ;)
ReplyDeleteFail! *g*
ReplyDeleteWe'll forgive you......just quilt your way through tomorrow ;) x
ReplyDeleteSee, I do it for the kids, but just use wonderweb and don't actually sew them.
ReplyDeleteHope they were a bargain buy so that you could get more fabric with your pennies instead, then you may be forgiven!
Noooo Susan nooooo!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteDon't tell people you have a sewing machine and can alter hems, or friends, neighbours and extended family will want your services all the flippin time!!!
ReplyDeleteTrust me, I know!!!
Lol, just don't tell! You may may live to regret it!
ReplyDeletehahahahaha!! I do it all the time too, even for other people (ssshhh!)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'll forgive you if you forgive me for adjusting the straps (badly) on E's dress today. I used my quarter inch foot too ;-)
ReplyDeleteIm sorry - you're banned from the quilting club...now go to the naughty corner until you're ready to say sorry ...
ReplyDeleteoh well, I do it too....and sometimes even for free. just be sure to throw away that cut off hem instead of hoarding it like quilting cotton scraps!
ReplyDeleteHemming is not terrible. If you want to know a way to do it without losing the bottom hem that came with the jeans, I can email you instructions or find you the tutorial. It would go fast with the rotary cutter.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it's a necessary evil in my house too.....oh the shame.
ReplyDeleteYou're forgiven as I know how easy it is to go over to the dark side.
ReplyDelete"Welcome" ;D Mmmwahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't a clause in my contract. Maybe someone left it out of yours too.
ReplyDeleteI hem all my own jeans and you couldn't even tell when you met me, could ya?
ReplyDeleteShhhht! It seems we are all guilty of something like that, but to admit it in a BLOG post... That's taking it too far!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou did WHAAAAAT? Haven't you heard of wonderweb? Tsk, tsk. You are sliding down my scale of admiration here. Sad. So sad.
ReplyDeleteoh dear, I wouldn't be advertising that if I were you or you'll get roped into doing it all the time!
ReplyDeletePS been playing Sylvanian families all afternoon with my girl. So cute to see her so into them :) xx
NOOOOOOOOOOO!! Please tell me they were yours and not someone else's at least?? Lol
ReplyDeleteOkay, because we adore you, we'll let you off just this one time, okay? So glad you've resolved not to "fail" again. Lol. You rock, sister!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! X
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware that was against the rules. Do the quilt police get involved?
ReplyDeleteI hemmed sleeves on my husbands cricket shirt once, about 10 years ago. I stuffed it up and cut them too short. I've never been asked to alter anything again!
ReplyDeleteAs long as you don't do any more curtains!
ReplyDeleteOMG! What were you thinking? Shame on you. You should have your rotary cutter and 1/4 inch foot removed from your home and placed into protective custody. You should never use quilting equipment for such awful tasks...so did they work out alright or did you stuff up and go too short? You are a crazy lady!
