Schnitzel & Boo Mini Swap

Well it looks like I will be limited to blogging on the iPad for a little while, so posts will be short and to the point. Apologies in advance. (Yes, the current state of my almost new - but past its warranty - laptop is not good.)

I did want to show you how my swap mini looked finished though.

I added a line of grey stem stitch all around the piecing and then framed it with charcoal binding. I didn't want to take away from the rainbow by making a colourful binding.

I'm really happy with this finish, except for the fact that I failed to notice that I had used a piece of Snow instead of White on the red edge. I had proceeded too far to remove it when I realised. So annoyed with myself. I hope that my partner can look beyond this flaw.

  1. I didn't spot it till you said! Why do we all point out our mistakes? It's great!

  2. Likewise, I didn't see it until you mentioned it. Maybe it can be one of those symbolic mistakes to show our imperfection, the way in some cultures you deliberately introduce a mistake because perfection is only for God, not for man. A profound philosophical choice, not a mistake at all! ;) I think it is a beautiful piece.

  3. it doesn't look like a flaw at all --it gives the background more interest.

  4. It is beautiful! So sorry for the laptop. The more advanced technology gets the less livespan they have.

  5. I think it's what Kaffe Fassett might call an intended mistake, perfection is so over rated! Fingers crossed for the work of the IT gods

  7. There's nothing wrong with a little snow, (although we have had none and the kids are a bit miffed!).

  9. I'm with Hadley, a little snow never hurt. We are getting some just as I type. I hate your laptop is acting up. It seems you have terrible luck with computers.

  11. I feel your pain about the Snow! I really like the effect though. It looks like a little sun dapple. I didn't even see it till you mentioned it.

  12. This Schnitzel & Boo participant would be thrilled to receive that mini. Well done.

As to posting on blogger from an ipad. Are you using an ap? I know there is such a thing...I used to use it but don't seem to have it any more. I don't recall the ap being difficul to use. Check them out.

  20. It's beautiful Susan. The snow white thing would pee me off too but truly, it looks great. Make like it was intentional!!

  21. I think that the snow really adds to it - and the recipient will be able to look at it and think to herself "Ah, even the famous Canadian Abroad isn't perfect. There's hope for me yet" At least that's what I would think :0)
