One week, my own personal challenge. Seven makes in seven days. Today we have the fabric basket, from a Pink Penguin tutorial.
Little fussy cut Heather Ross fabrics combined with linen. Some stem stitching in lime green and colonial knots in pink.
We all know Heather Ross is my happy place. It goes wonderfully well with linen, and - for me - hand stitching is just the icing on the cake. The pink daisies for the lining just seemed the right choice to compliment it all.
But I said seven makes in seven days and I missed out making anything on Saturday. So I quickly made something else.
Bubbles and Bjorn have been cruelly separated at birth. They are the Romeo and Juliet of the fishy world. And now I am sticking pins in them. It is a sad, sad story.
But it does mean I completed my goal. Seven small makes. Two re-homed already and destinations for the rest of them. I'd call that a good week.

i'd say your sad sad pinnie is my favourite x
ReplyDeleteI made Easter baskets from the same pattern. Do you do the hand stitching before assembly, or at the end when the lining is sewn already?
ReplyDeleteLove the linen and HR combos!
ReplyDeleteLove, love your fabric basket! So zakka! And poor Bubbles and Bjorn, but at least they're back together again... Great job on the seven makes!
ReplyDeleteLove these cute projects!
ReplyDeleteSuch tragedy and despair in one little pinnie! Great hand stitching as always.
ReplyDeleteYou're on fire! I can't imagine who is special enough to get such pretty HR fussy cuts. They're one lucky friend!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous. I love the fabric basket. I've made loads from that tutorial, such easy presents when filled with goodies xx
ReplyDeleteI am out of breath coping with the barrage of all your gorgeous sewing.
ReplyDeleteMight have to have a lie down. With Chocolate.
THEN I'll ring the RSPCF.
Oh the fishes! So pretty, so tragic :)
ReplyDeleteThat basket makes my heart flutter! It's beautiful! Well done for making 7 things in 7 days too! x
ReplyDeleteWow 7 fantastic projects, well done on getting them all done, and lucky recipients!!
ReplyDeleteI love that basket!!! The pin cushion is also very, very cute but, in addition to the sad tale of Bubbles and Bjorn being separated at birth, they've now both been run through with a piece of sharp metal. Twice. If that's not piling suffering onto misery then I don't know what is. Like Salley, I think I'm going to have to go and find some chocolate but mine's to cheer me up and help me forget the cruel twists life can take, especially when you're a goldfish...
ReplyDeleteWhoooo hoooo ! You did it! ( I never doubted you for a moment) Love the fabric basket - thats such a great tutorial - I've used it a lot .
ReplyDeletePoor bubbles and Bjorn ...destined to be forever separated . At least they're getting free acupuncture.
I love what you have done with the basket. That pattern has to be one of the ones I use the most for presents, but your embroidery makes it so much more special. x
ReplyDeleteOhgodohgodohgod. That basket is perfection. We have very similar tastes, ya know!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous makes. Well done. The embroidery on the basket is just gorgeous, but I particularly love the pin cushion, despite the sad story ;)
ReplyDeleteI could do with undertaking my own version of your personal challenge to get all my 'to-sew' things done!
ReplyDeletePoor Bubbles & Bjorn *sniff*
ReplyDeleteLove them both
ReplyDeleteI love your small things!
