It was Saturday night and Helen asked me what I had bought for her friend's birthday present. The one she was going over to have a sleepover with the next day. Since 'B****r all!' would not have been an appropriate answer, I told her I would make something. Yes, of course I would. Wasn't that the plan all along?
So make I did. Oh, and I sent Helen to the Coop to get some chocolate to put in the make. And to our neighbour, who very conveniently has just started setting up to sell craft supplies for children online. (Phew!) Present sorted, just in time.
Right, that's me off the hook. This time.
Susan
Love the embroidery details like the name and flowers.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, but hang on, you were not on the hook, it seems to me you bailed out a certain forgetful friend who did not get the present thing moving. You get a gold star.
ReplyDeleteoh it is really lovely! way to go Mum!
ReplyDeleteI can't say it any better. Great job!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love it when they do that? My 17yr old has just pulled the same trick on me but I have left him to figure out what to do! You made a lovely zippy and I like the embroidery too. Di x
ReplyDeleteThe stitching is gorgeous! Lovely little pouch and girls always need little pouches!
ReplyDeleteLove that embroidery! Fabulous gift
ReplyDeleteYou had it planned all along. I can see by the beautiful craftmanship and the well thought out things to put inside the zippy
ReplyDeleteBet you're glad you know how to sew! It's much nicer present than anything you could have bought anyway
ReplyDeleteNice save Mom ;)
ReplyDeleteMuch nicer than store bought rubbish, but I'm sure you could have done it without the heart-attack hurry! Hope it was well received.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great present, I bet it's far nicer than anything in the shops!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Oh, mommyhood. Makes us forget everything. The pouch looks great. I'm sure the little girl will love it.
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty - I am sure that I wouldn't have been able to make it so quickly, though!
ReplyDeletePomona x
Very cute!! Your daughter is lucky her Mum can 'knock' something up so quickly!
ReplyDeleteAnother great save!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! What a lucky daughter and a lucky friend! Very pretty pouch!
ReplyDeleteI used to love it when Miss P did that to me ( insert sarcasm here ) I cant count the amount of times Ive stayed up late making a costume that had to be finished with 8 hours notice, or a bunch of cakes for the cakes stall.
ReplyDeleteYou rock baby!
Well rescued!
ReplyDeletePhew! Another disaster averted by super sewing mum! It's a beauty Susan!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty pouch - she will just love it!
ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Those fatboy jeans just keep going and going! You should have made another one while you were at for the next emergency birthday present! Jxo
ReplyDeleteOh the joy of having girls!!! What a fantastic, personal and beautifully made pouch. I'm sure she loved it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great when 'a plan' comes to fruition!
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers! Inspired!
This is just gorgeous!! What wee one would not love it?
ReplyDeleteMy son used to specialise in mentioning things in the car on the way to school!!
Luckily we had a bargain shop & a bakery on the way so most emergencies could be sorted.
Phew, good save!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky birthday girl!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Great embriodery work!
ReplyDeleteWhat will you do when they're reply is "really mom ?" Lol?
ReplyDeletePhew, and it looks fabulous too.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet (pardon the pun) girls love anything with their name on it so I'm sure it was a hit :o)
