What I wish knew at the time was Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood was second in command during the Battle of Trafalgar. His ship, the Royal Sovereign, made first contact with the enemy. He was a highly respected Admiral and as a result my little town was named after him. He thought ahead to the future as well. He would plant acorns while walking his dog so England would always have oak trees for shipbuilding.
